The BaziGua Date Scanner integrates multiple traditional date selection systems into a single interface, helping you quickly identify auspicious dates for important life events. Traditionally, date selection requires cross-referencing multiple almanacs, checking the 12 Day Officers, verifying the 28 Lunar Mansions, and calculating hexagram energies — a process that is both time-consuming and demands specialist knowledge. The core logic of the Date Scanner is to synthesize multi-dimensional auspiciousness criteria and generate an intuitive composite score for each day. It simultaneously considers the following major systems: ◆ The 12 Day Officers (Jian Chu) — twelve rotating daily officers, each with specific activities they favor or prohibit. ◆ The 28 Lunar Mansions — the stellar zone presiding over each day, carrying unique Five Element attributes and fortune characteristics. ◆ The 60 Jia Zi Hexagram — the hexagram energy corresponding to each day's Stem-Branch combination. ◆ Traditional malevolent influences — such as Year Breaker, Month Breaker, Three Killings, and other factors to avoid. This multi-layered verification system filters for truly favorable dates from multiple angles, preventing oversights or misjudgments that can arise from relying on a single criterion alone. Whether you are planning a wedding, moving house, opening a business, or breaking ground, the Date Scanner provides a reliable reference.

The first step in using the Date Scanner is to set your search criteria. At the top of the tool interface, you will see two core inputs: ◆ Date Range — select a start date and an end date. It is recommended to set the range between one and three months, providing enough candidate dates without information overload from too wide a window. If your activity has a specific time constraint (for example, you must move within a certain month), simply set that month. ◆ Event Type — choose the activity you are planning from the dropdown menu. Different events have different date selection standards: • Wedding — prioritizes "Success" or "Full" day officers, avoids "Break" and "Close" officers, and favors auspicious mansions such as Room, Wall, Wings, and Dipper. • Moving — checks whether the day's Branch clashes with the house's sitting direction, prioritizing "Open" or "Success" officers. • Business Opening — favors "Open" or "Stable" officers, requiring the day's hexagram qi to align with the shop's orientation. • Groundbreaking — requires special attention to avoiding the Grand Duke and Three Killings directions, selecting days with strong hexagram qi. • General — applies to important activities without a specific category, using universal auspiciousness criteria. After setting your date range and event type, click the "Scan" button. The system will calculate a composite score for every day in the range and display them in order.

After the scan completes, each date displays a composite score along with detailed analysis information. The scoring uses a four-tier system that is intuitive and easy to understand: ◆ Da Ji (Greatly Auspicious) — the best possible rating. Multiple indicators are simultaneously favorable, making these days highly suitable for major activities. These days typically feature auspicious Day Officers (such as Success, Open, or Full), auspicious Lunar Mansions, and no conflict with any malevolent influences. ◆ Ji (Auspicious) — an overall favorable day with most indicators positive and a few neutral. Suitable for important undertakings. ◆ Ping (Neutral) — a mixed day with roughly equal auspicious and inauspicious factors. Usable if no better option exists, but not recommended for particularly important events. ◆ Xiong (Inauspicious) — a day where multiple indicators are unfavorable. Major activities are not recommended. The day may fall on a Break officer, under an inauspicious mansion, or trigger other traditional taboos. When you expand the details for any date, you can see the name of that day's Day Officer along with its recommendations — which activities are favorable and which should be avoided. Following this is the 28 Lunar Mansions information, showing the presiding mansion's name, its celestial animal group (Green Dragon, White Tiger, Red Bird, Black Tortoise), and its Five Element attribute. By viewing multiple dimensions of information side by side, you can clearly understand why a particular day is rated "Da Ji" or "Xiong" rather than blindly trusting a single number. This transparent scoring mechanism lets you make decisions quickly while gaining a deeper understanding of the metaphysical logic behind each rating.

The hexagram analysis in the date results is the hallmark feature of the Xuan Kong Da Gua date selection method. Each day's Stem-Branch combination (one of the 60 Jia Zi) maps to a specific hexagram among the 64 Hexagrams. This hexagram represents the deeper energy quality and trajectory of change for that day. The hexagram information typically includes the following elements: ◆ Hexagram Name and Image — such as "Heaven over Wind" (Gou) or "Earth over Thunder" (Fu). Each hexagram consists of an upper trigram (outer) and a lower trigram (inner), each made of three lines. ◆ Meaning Overview — a concise description of the hexagram's core significance. For example, the Tai hexagram symbolizes the harmonious interchange of heaven and earth and the flourishing of all things, making it greatly auspicious. The Pi hexagram, in contrast, symbolizes obstruction and stagnation. ◆ Energy Characteristics — the hexagram's Five Element tendency and its strength relationship with the current season (month command). The key to understanding hexagram analysis is connecting it with your specific activity. A day rated overall as "Ji" (Auspicious) becomes even more ideal if its hexagram energy aligns with the Five Element needs of your planned activity. For instance, business openings favor hexagrams with strong, ascending yang energy (such as Qian or Zhen types), while weddings favor hexagrams of harmony and union (such as Tai or Xian types). Hexagram analysis adds a deeper dimension to date selection. The 12 Day Officers and 28 Lunar Mansions provide "everyday level" fortune assessments, while hexagrams reveal the deeper energy currents and cosmic rhythms of a day. Together, the three form a comprehensive date evaluation system spanning from macro to micro perspectives.

One of the Date Scanner's advanced features is personalized clash detection. When you have saved your BaZi profile on BaziGua, the Date Scanner can cross-reference each candidate date against your personal chart to uncover potential conflicts. The most important check is the "Daily Branch Clash" (Ri Zhi Xiang Chong). When a day's Earthly Branch forms a Six Clash relationship with the Earthly Branch of your Day Pillar, the system displays a prominent warning marker on that date. The Six Clashes represent the strongest oppositional relationships among the twelve Earthly Branches: ◆ Zi clashes with Wu, Chou clashes with Wei, Yin clashes with Shen ◆ Mao clashes with You, Chen clashes with Xu, Si clashes with Hai The Day Branch represents your personal foundation and the Spouse Palace. When it is clashed, it means the day's energy creates direct opposition to your fundamental qi field. Undertaking major activities on such a day — especially weddings, contract signings, or house moves — may encounter setbacks or complications. Beyond Daily Branch Clashes, the system also references your Yong Shen element. If a day's dominant element happens to control your Yong Shen, a corresponding note will appear. This kind of personalized date recommendation is something traditional paper almanacs simply cannot provide — it combines universal fortune assessments with your unique destiny chart information, making date selection truly tailored to the individual. To enable this feature, simply ensure you have saved your birth information in the "Profile" section of your dashboard. The Date Scanner will automatically read your profile data without any additional steps required.
